Slam Poetry a Blue-Collar Chicago Movement at North Side Club
Most days and nights, the Green Mill Lounge in the Uptown neighborhood is full of bar patrons and concert-goers listening to everything from swing to jump jazz. But on Sundays, the one-time prohibition bar is transformed into the Uptown Poetry Slam, a collection of poets, musicians and other creatives.

CTA Considers Closing Five Stops, Including Three on the Red Line
The CTA held public meetings in Uptown, Rogers Park and Evanston to get public feedback on a Red Line El redevelopment project. 

One of the proposals the CTA is considering is closing five stations, including the Red Line's Lawrence, Thorndale and Jarvis stops.
