For my Online Journalism II class at DePaul University, I borrowed my professor Mike Reilley‘s Google Glass prototype and took a bike ride along Lincoln Avenue to get a first-hand look at its notoriously dangerous bike lane.
Check out the video to see for yourself, but I found numerous potholes and nearly destroyed sections of pavement along the way, which pose a danger to cyclists.
My experience with Glass was really cool, however. While there are definitely still some kinks to work out before Glass is available for retail sale, it is a powerful and innovative tool that has plenty of potential for use in reporting, not to mention our everyday lives. It was exciting to get a chance to test out such new and possibly revolutionary technology, and it will be interesting to see where it goes from here.
@redlineproject terrible bike lane, tons of pot holes the further south you go— Paul Biasco (@Paul_Biasco) May 9, 2014
