Total itemized campaign contributions came in upward of $67 million this election cycle in Illinois, with more than $51 million going to candidates and parties. Republicans received about 46 percent of those contributions with Democrats trailing at nearly 35 percent, according to OpenSecrets at The Center for Responsive Politics.
