As the number of cases around the United States regarding COVID-19 rises, the Trump administration has implemented travel bans and urged residents to resort to self quarantine -- and people are upset with the way the situation is being handled.

At the start of the week, the United States had 3,487 cases of COVID-19 with a death toll of 68.

Healthcare professionals have uncovered the history of infected individuals in order to determine where the virus originated from. 205 cases were related to traveling and 214 cases are from close contact meaning an individual interacted with an infected person. In the meantime, they are undergoing investigations on the history of 3,048 people who were infected.

The administration had released a statement encouraging people to avoid attending gatherings with more than 10 people. In Illinois, Gov. J.B. Pritzker had instructed the closure of bars and restaurants., save for carryout and deliver. These safety measures are essential in protecting the population, doctors say.

Creating restrictions allows healthcare professionals to research and work on a vaccine, and will reduce flow of the seriously ill to undersized and understaffed hospitals. In the meantime, people need to take care of their health and be conscious of the spaces they enter because it just takes one person to start a chain reaction.
